Acer has finally joined the netbook market by releasing the Acer Aspire One. They have announced it to be an ‘internet device’ rather than a normal laptop. For example, with the Linux system, you are going to get a netbook with a 1.6GHz Intel Atom N270 processor. On the other hand though, if you go the Linux route you are going to have less storage, only 8Gb of NAND flash memory capacity.
For those who choose a model with Windows system, you will be getting a similar type of processor but with a larger amount or RAM (1.0Bg of RAM) and storage capacities (80 Gb of hard drive). On the downside, windows based models are more vulnerable to loss of data within the hard drive when an impact occurs.
